Data deletion
Last updated:
This page explains how to request the deletion of the data we process through our Meta and WhatsApp integration, that is, through our Meta app (the application we have registered with Meta to connect WhatsApp Business accounts), and how a business can disconnect it.
1. Who can request it
- Businesses that connected their WhatsApp Business account to our app.
- People who wrote on WhatsApp to one of those businesses.
2. How to request it
Write to us at contact@thesynergylabs.es stating:
- Your WhatsApp number or, if you are writing on behalf of a business, the name of the business. If you have written to a business that uses our service, also tell us which one, if you know.
- What you are asking for: deletion of all your data, only part of it or, if you are a business, disconnection of your account.
If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may ask you for some additional information to confirm it before deleting anything. This prevents someone from deleting data that is not theirs.
3. Response time
We will respond within one month of receiving your request, as set out in article 12.3 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
4. If you have written to a business that uses our service
In that case the controller of your data is that business, and we process it on its behalf as a data processor. When we receive your request, we pass it on to the business and coordinate with it to handle it. You can also contact the business directly.
5. How a business disconnects our app
A business can disconnect our app at any time, in either of these two ways:
- From its Meta business portfolio: in the portfolio settings, remove our app's access or remove The Synergy Labs as a partner.
- From the WhatsApp Business app, if it uses the app on the same number: Settings > Account > Business Platform > Disconnect.
We recommend also letting us know by email, so we can confirm the deletion to you.
6. What happens when you disconnect
When our app is disconnected we delete the access tokens for the account, so we can no longer send or receive messages on its behalf, and we delete the processed data as agreed with the business, except for any data a legal obligation requires us to keep.
This page covers the data we process. Messages that remain in the business's WhatsApp account or app, or in Meta's systems, are a matter for the business and for Meta.
7. More information
The details of the processing are in our Privacy policy and the terms of the service in our Terms of service. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
